I guess this is a unique temple situated at the confluence of sea and river. The place where Arabian Sea and Gomti river meet each other. It is believed that Lord Krishna has performed pooja before establishing Dwarka City.
There is also a legend about this temple. This temple is dedicated to goddess Gomti. It is said that Gomti river has been brought by Vasgista Sage to sanctify Lord Rama after his battle with Ravana. After purification, goddess Gomti manifested here on ghats and submerged in Arabian sea. Samudra Narayan Temple is dedicated to Samudra Narayan and Goddess Gomti. Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu are known as Samudra Narayan, which means `Narayan residing in the Sea`. This is probably because the temple is located at the tip of the Arabian Sea. To the left of Samudra Narayan is an idol of Goddess Gomti. Samudra Narayan Temple is surrounded by Panchanada Tirtha, which comprises of five wells that have sweet water and it is believed that this water is one of the sacred water in the western circuit of India.
It's also a beautiful sunset point.
