Books on Wheels!

We have seen frequent and sometimes cacophonous visits of hawkers in your coach. Somebody is selling tea, coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinners. But this is the first time I am seeing somebody selling books.
Books on wheel, I don't recall the name of the station where the person has entered the coach to sell books. Most books were selfhelp books. Atlist the is an oasis of an opportunity to take and extend hand for yourownself.
This had made my journey.

What an utopian world that would be if we are seeing all passengers are reading something, leaving there handheld devices far aways.

Journey or 16337 is proven with lots of hopes.

Keep traveling keep rediscovering!

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga

One of the Jyotirlinga out of 12 Jyotirlinga.  Second, after Somnath in Gujarat.

I guess it is much less crowded, Jyotirlinga.

Must visit.  I like the pond just behind the temple. Love to visit again.

Why Dwarka?

It was a misty morning. It felt like it had rained a moment ago, but it hadn't. What we realized was that all the dew had accumulated on the earth, creating a false sense of rain. This was the first time I was unable to distinguish between raindrops and dew. Winter must have forced the mist to condense into dew. This must be a harsh winter in the coastal belt. I felt fortunate enough to have inhaled the petrichor in winter, whereas it usually occurs when we surrender to harsh summers.

I was on my way to Nageshwar Jyotirlinga when I witnessed a small but beautiful lake bathed in the golden rays of the rising sun. My eyes were bewildered, baffled by the beauty before me. This bewilderment brought me ebullient happiness.

The chirping of birds, the petrichor, and the golden sun rays all combined to welcome another spirit-lifting day ahead. While this was on my mind, deep within my unconsciousness, I pondered the question of why Lord Krishna chose Dwarka as his sacred place.

Samudra Sangam Naraya

I guess this is a unique temple situated at the confluence of sea and river. The place where Arabian Sea and Gomti river meet each other.  It is believed that Lord Krishna has performed pooja before establishing Dwarka City.

There is also a legend about this temple. This temple is dedicated to goddess Gomti. It is said that Gomti river has been brought by Vasgista Sage to sanctify Lord Rama after his battle with Ravana. After purification, goddess Gomti manifested here on ghats and submerged in Arabian sea. Samudra Narayan Temple is dedicated to Samudra Narayan and Goddess Gomti. Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu are known as Samudra Narayan, which means `Narayan residing in the Sea`. This is probably because the temple is located at the tip of the Arabian Sea. To the left of Samudra Narayan is an idol of Goddess Gomti. Samudra Narayan Temple is surrounded by Panchanada Tirtha, which comprises of five wells that have sweet water and it is believed that this water is one of the sacred water in the western circuit of India.

It's also a beautiful sunset point.

Rukmini

Goddess Rukmini holds the half thirtha. She is one of the beloved queens of Lord Krishna. Half of the credit of your pilgrimage goes to goddess Rukmini Devi. Your pilgrimage once completed when you have holy darshan at this temple.

According to the Mahabharata, the sage Durvasa once visited Krishna and his wife Rukmini. The sage wished that the pair took him to their palace, demanding that they pull his chariot like horses. The pair agreed and started to carry the sage, even as the latter struck Rukmini when she fell. After some distance, according to local tradition, Rukmini got tired, and she requested some water from Krishna. Krishna dug a hole with his powers that brought in river Ganga to the place. Durvasa was furious and cursed Rukmini to remain in the place. The temple where Rukmini's shrine is found is believed to be the place where she stood. In the epic, finding no fault with the divine couple, Durvasa blessed Krishna with invincibility everywhere except the soles of his feet, and declared that Rukmini would be the foremost of the deity's spouses and would be his eternal companion in the next world as well. Durvasa also cursed that Dwarka will never ever have sweet water. Hence, you find that water in Dwarka is hard water.

In and around 19 km of Dwarka, potable drinking water is not available. Tubewell, boarwell and water reservoirs do not have sweet and potable drinking water. Pandit ji very nicely tells the story of Rukmini and Lord Krishna.

Jalarpan is performed at this temple. It is believed, by doing jalpran that is water donation your ancestors get liberation.

Dwarka

Another beautiful railway station in the coastal area. I have already visited Veraval and Porbandar railway station, but this station is much cleaner than others.

Lord Krishna devotees debiard here, the city of Dwarka is not that big city, this station serve majorly only pilgrimage purposes. It's a neat and clean station having two platforms. Lift is also available to cross the platform. Reting rooms, dormantory and clock room services are available.

Keep traveling, Keep rediscovering!
