It was around 6 AM in the morning, train halted at its
destination, all passengers woke-up and started to de-board the berths, and
motorman must have put down breaks on slippery rail-tracks that could have
resulted into alarm buzz of wheels, rail-tracks and fish-plates.
People outside mostly cab drivers gathered along with their
massive umbrella, and conveying passengers with almost 100% efforts to use
their vehicles wherever they want to go. Rains are not ready to subside from
their positions. It seems like that falling water droplets are determined to
merge with their purpose of existence.
I am talking about ‘Kathgotadam’, the word literally means
'timber depot', situated at foothills of Himalaya. Its last railway station on
that region and first station for Kumao region of Uttarakhand, India. Point of
collection for forest products of Himalaya.
The station is having very few frequent trains to various
parts of the nation. That could be reason for its peculiarity of neat and
cleanness. Travelers de-board here for long leap into the Himalayas. Nearest travel destinations are Nainital,
Bheemtal, Ranikhet, Almora etc.
Kathgodam is sub-town area of town called Haldwani in
district of Nainital in Himalayan state of Uttarakhand.
Enjoy the time at this station during monsoon season.
Ignite your journey with small small things....
